Job Summary: As the Food & Beverage/Banquet Sales Manager, you will be responsible for maximizing catering revenues, executing banquet events, and managing administrative functions. This role requires a balance between sales activities and banquet execution. You will coach, train, and schedule banquet staff while ensuring exceptional service delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Sales Generation: Execute outbound sales calls, follow-up phone calls, and networking events to increase catering revenue. Identify target markets, build and maintain prospects, and maximize customer potential.
- Event Management: Develop and adhere to event specifications, communicate requirements to appropriate departments or vendors, and ensure corporate standards of quality and service are met. Maintain relationships with event hosts and provide follow-up to ensure satisfaction.
- Administrative Duties: Perform administrative tasks such as correspondence, contract generation, filing, and providing support to sales staff. Manage budgets, payroll, food orders, and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Staff Management: Hire, schedule, and train banquet staff. Coordinate kitchen tasks and service standards. Plan menus for restaurants, catering, and special events.
- Additional Responsibilities: Promote club event bookings, attend community functions, Chamber of Commerce meetings, and trade shows. Collaborate with department heads for smooth event execution.
Minimum Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
- High School Diploma required; 3-5 years of related experience in administrative support, food and beverage management, or sales environment preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and CRM software.
- Excellent time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Strong customer service orientation and focus on customer satisfaction.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Food, wine, and spirits knowledge required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Additional Qualifications/Requirements:
- Stock Control System; POS System knowledge preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and customers.
- Ability to manage staff and resolve conflicts.
- Food and Safety certification required.
