We are seeking an experienced Director of New Business Development to strengthen our relationships within the MLS sector and drive revenue growth.
Role Overview: As the Director of New Business Development – MLS, you will play a critical role in enhancing Sports Media’s partnerships with Major League Soccer teams. Reporting directly to the President, you will be responsible for maximizing revenue potential and achieving sales objectives while delivering exceptional customer service. This is a commission-based role with stock incentive options, offering the potential to earn a mid to high six-figure income while working remotely from your home office.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Utilize sports sponsorship knowledge to guide advertising strategies within the MLS. Define the company’s approach and focus within the sports vertical.
- Opportunity Identification: Identify and prioritize business opportunities within the MLS, continuously seeking new approaches to enhance advertising effectiveness.
- Client Interaction: Develop and implement best practices for client interaction, sales, and services, ensuring a deep understanding of working with sports venues.
- Sales Performance: Develop metrics to measure sales team growth and performance. Provide regular reports and insights to drive continuous improvement.
- Sales Presentations: Create persuasive sales presentations leveraging market trends, case studies, and campaign performance statistics. Recommend optimized media solutions to clients.
- Data Management: Manage and analyze sports consumption data to inform strategic decisions and drive revenue growth.
- Revenue Goals: Exceed sales, pricing, and yield goals for both personal performance and team success.
- Customer Service: Ensure clients receive the highest level of sales and operational customer service, fostering long-term partnerships.
Requirements:
- Experience: Previous experience in telemarketing, social media, data mining, and team/league sponsorship sales is essential.
- Industry Knowledge: Complete understanding of team and facility operations within the sports advertising industry.
- Professional Attributes: Strong work ethic, entrepreneurial mindset, excellent communication, and organizational skills.
- Self-Motivation: Proven ability to work independently with a positive attitude and a desire to succeed.
Compensation and Benefits: This is a commission-based role with overrides and stock incentive options, plus access to a 401K and medical savings plan.
