Job Description:
We are seeking an exceptional Chief Veterinarian Medical Officer to join our esteemed Zoo Media team. The ideal candidate will possess unparalleled expertise in veterinary medicine and a profound commitment to animal welfare and conservation. This remote position entails collaborating closely with our Zoo Media team to ensure the optimal health and care of animals in zoos and aquariums worldwide.
Responsibilities:
– Provide expert veterinary medical care and guidance to zoos and aquariums globally.
– Collaborate with animal care teams to devise and implement preventative health care initiatives.
– Offer guidance on animal husbandry practices and welfare concerns.
– Conduct research and analyze data to pioneer innovative strategies for animal health management.
– Engage in continuous professional development to remain abreast of industry advancements and best practices.
– Partner with the Zoo Media team to craft compelling content on animal health and welfare across various media platforms.
– Maintain meticulous medical records for animals under care.
– Supervise veterinary technicians and assistants to ensure the highest standard of animal care.
– Serve as a liaison between zoos, aquariums, government agencies, and other organizations on matters pertaining to animal health and welfare.
Qualifications:
– Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution.
– Current license to practice veterinary medicine.
– Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
– Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to work autonomously and remotely.
– In-depth knowledge of animal welfare regulations and standards.
– Proficiency in medical record-keeping and data analysis.
– Flexibility to travel as required.

Pay: $85,611.00 – $251,395.00 per year
This position operates on a performance-based Commission Only structure, complemented by incentive stock options, 401(k) benefits, and health savings plan eligibility after 120 days.
