We are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee our organization’s financial operations, ensuring efficiency and profitability.
Position Overview:
The CFO will be responsible for managing the financial actions of Sour Dog Media. This includes tracking cash flow, financial planning, analyzing the company’s financial strengths and weaknesses, and proposing corrective actions. The successful candidate will work closely with the CEO and other senior executives to establish and direct the company’s financial goals, objectives, and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning: Develop and implement financial strategies, plans, and policies.
- Budget Management: Oversee the preparation of all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.
- Risk Management: Identify and manage financial risks, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor performance metrics to evaluate the financial performance of the company.
- Cost Reduction: Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve financial efficiency.
- Investment Management: Oversee investment activities and manage relationships with investors and stakeholders.
- Financial Reporting: Provide timely and accurate financial reports and forecasts to the CEO and other senior executives.
- Strategic Planning: Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes to support the company’s long-term growth.
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Fundraising: Assist in fundraising ventures and manage the capital structure of the company.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required (Master’s degree or CPA preferred).
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in a senior financial leadership role.
- Proven Success: Demonstrated success in managing financial operations for a growing company.
- Skills: Strong analytical, strategic planning, and financial management skills.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Technology: Proficient in financial management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Work Ethic: High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
- Remote Work: Ability to work independently from a home office.
