Responsibilities:

• Proofread and edit articles with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in spelling, punctuation, grammar, and syntax.
• Ensure articles are well-written and logically structured, maintaining clarity, accuracy, and flow.
• Confirm articles adhere to “house style” guidelines while preserving a professional tone.
• Complete other duties as assigned by managers or supervisors.

Requirements:

• Current undergraduate majoring in journalism, communication, or a related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word (or Google Docs), Excel, Publisher, and Slack (teachable).
• Strong editing, writing, grammar, and proofreading skills (expanded vocabulary is a plus).
• Excellent communication skills, particularly in collaborating with writers and editors.
• Ability to maintain the writer’s voice in the story after editing.
• Self-motivated and disciplined with the capability to work independently.
• Teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
• Computer proficiency and data entry skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Outstanding work ethic with the ability to meet daily and weekly goals.
